Lovely glimmer when pouring. Aromas in the glass are fresh yet soothing – subtle aromas, a garden filled with beautiful flowers all working together for your pleasure. A fresh and appetising wine, with nice weight and a subtle lick of savouriness. This is one of those versatile wines that seem to pair well with almost anything on the plate.

Hadyn Black has spiced up his first Riesling under the Black & Ginger label with a 30% component of Gewurztraminer.

The Riesling fruit was purchased from a vineyard in Halls Gap, and the final blend includes some pressins for added mouthfeel.

The Gewurztraminer is from the coastal Henty, and was barrel fermented for added texture and to obtain a layer of savoury notes instead of the occasionally overt floral characters the variety easily displays.

A touch of residual sugar there, but not enough to tip the wine into notable sweetness.
