The white that rules in Orange

The Orange GI has over the years become synonymous in Sydney with high quality Chardonnay.

That reputation is well founded. Despite the high standard of Chardonnay across the continent, there is something utterly compelling about the Chardonnays from Orange. Its not a specific flavour or style – rather they all seem to embody a certain poise and elegance coupled with ripe but seldom 'heavy' fruit. I'm a big fan of these balanced wines.

The Cooks Lot '168' Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from select vineyards across the region. It shows all the lovely stone fruits a Chardonnay lover would wish for, framed by light citrus notes. You'll also find nice toastiness on the palate, and a pleasant mouthfeel thanks to lees stirring.

Current vintage is the 2016.
