Feroz. The wild one.

There is no doubt for me that Tempranillo is very well suited to the high country of NSW, as many of our local high altitude grape growing regions are ideal for the variety: dry, sunny and warm with considerable diurnal temperature variations.

The fruit for this lovely single vineyard wine was contract grown for James in the Hilltops region of NSW. Wildferemented in a singular barrel, this limited release (300 bottles) wine was neither filtered nor fined, and literally hand bottled from the barrel. A light touch of sulphur before closure was the only high tech (if natural) addition.

James says: Vibrant. Cedar. Cherry Ripe. Spice.

We say: A lovely, complex and sophisticated Tempranillo. This would be a treat with a very broad range of vegetarian and meat based dishes alike.

Current vintage 2016 is strictly limited.
